Exhibitions Provide Great Benefits For Your Start-Up Business

Often new and start-up businesses shy away from the opportunity to be a part of an exhibition or trade show, as the fear of the costs is so great. But exhibitions are cheaper than you think and can provide you with a huge boost in revenue, as you can earn back everything you invested in the exhibition, gain more revenue and acquire new customers.

Gaining a list of customers to retain is the crucial part for a start-up business, as you won’t be able to last long unless you’re actually selling your product or service. A large stumbling block in this is letting the right people know that you exist. Exhibitions are more often than not industry specific, so people who attend them are interested in that area. This is where you will find your target audience all in one place. Now you simply need to gain their attention over everyone else’s.

The Beauty of Time Stamping Post

For most of you readers, this will probably be old information but to some others, it will be new. To all, it should prove to be helpful in some shape or form. Now I am not sure about you all, but I would always wonder how these “pro” bloggers post two to three times a day consistently. How they always find a time to make these post which is usually at certain time intervals.

I figured maybe they type the blogs or at least notes on their phones until they have time to reach a computer. It also crossed my mind that these “pro” bloggers are online all day and have no other life. But neither of these answers seemed to make sense nor did they seem to be correct. What per say is the key to a consistent blog schedule? It is a consistent post writing schedule.

The Time Stamp

See what the big shot bloggers do is take advantage of a little tool known as “time stamping” post. Simply put, this allows a person to type a post and schedule it to post on a certain time and date. This works wonders if you do not have the time to be at the computer all day. It is available for both WordPress as well as Blogger blogs.

Would you like an apple pie with that?

There have been articles in the news lately where obese people are suing airlines for forcing them to purchase an extra seat. There was the Code Pink post on Two Babes that prompted the attention of someone pointing out the “discriminating” factors within the post itself and the comments from some readers.

You know, I have all the sympathy in the world for some people that are obese because of an illness, but I don’t see obesity itself as an “illness.” I see it as a choice.

I’ve reached an age where I must watch my food intake in order to fit into the clothes I have. The main reason I don’t overeat so much anymore is simply because I’m too damn cheap to go out and buy a new wardrobe to cater to my uncontrollable eating habit, which by the way costs more money as well.

So to save money on things like clothes, food, not to mention my overall health, I just don’t eat as much. Why is that such a difficult concept to grasp?

Why We Are Oversharing and How to Stop It-10 Simple Rules

Most of us don’t go around telling total strangers about the most intimate parts of our lives.  We don’t even share these parts with most of our family or close friends. But I talk about with strangers; recently I shared my life stories when chatting about the GED test with people from the GED Prep course. Kate was super helpful!

These secrets become our little treasures or burdens.  There may be some reasons that we don’t talk about them; maybe we’re just private and choose to keep things close to our chest, or we’re embarrassed about our quirks, maybe we’re scared that would be ostracized by our community if they knew the weird things we find interesting.  The secrets may be big and small but they are ours, and we hold on to them with a tight fist.

What is fascinating to see, however, is how the blogosphere opens that fit for a lot of us.  We start to share incredibly intimate and embarrassing things about themselves through this medium with little or no fear.  Why is that?  Why do we choose to share it with the entire world on the internet?

What Makes E-commerce Hum

What makes e-commerce hum? Dozens of technologies and companies, most of which you’ve never heard of. These are the so-called “enabler” companies, the firms competing fast and hard to build the infrastructure for e-commerce in both the retail and business-to-business universes. From the front end to the back, they make the hardware, software, services, tools, and transactions platform that make the wheels of commerce turn.

Enabler companies with unsexy names and services drive the process.

The enabler group has sneaked beneath most of the news media’s radar, but not Wall Street’s. A quick glance at the latest Internet stock rankings from New York-based Pegasus Research International reveals an eye-opening fact: Seven of the ten best-performing Internet stocks in 2016 – companies with a majority of revenues or customers linked directly to business – aren’t true Internet companies at all. They’re all Internet-company enablers. (And that figure doesn’t even include VerticalNet, which is a hybrid, doing business over the Web and enabling others to do so as well.)

My Addiction To Chewing Ice-Behind the craving

Hi, my name is Crazy and I…am an addict. I am addicted to ICE. No, I don’t shoot up or smoke meth. I’m talking about actual ice. You know, the stuff you put in your drinks to keep them cold.

It started when I was a teenager. Sometimes I would finish a drink and there would be a few half-melted pieces of ice sitting in the bottom of the glass. I would suck them up and crush them between my teeth, enjoying the way the tiny particles of ice would slowly melt in my mouth. Back then it was just something I did once in a blue moon. I could take it or leave it.

But about 10 years ago things started getting out of control. What was once just an occasional pleasure had become a daily habit. I was chomping ice after every drink. In fact, I couldn’t even have a drink without ice. I became an ice connoisseur. While I would chew on any ice that came my way, I preferred my ice crushed.

I knew which places had the best finely crushed ice. The ultimate high was the soft, silky shaved ice at the snow cone stands. No syrup for me, thank you, just give me a big old cup of shaved ice piled at least 4 inches above the top.

Seniors on Facebook, OMG what now?

I would like to make a very special announcement…my mother has discovered the biggest time waste of all time wastes, Facebook and YouTube!!! Watch out YouTube; my mother is searching you for funny videos.  The world will never be the same.

Among her many discoveries on that magical thing called the internet is my blog! After writing over 200 posts (every day since June 17), my mother is finally reading what I’m piecing together every night.

Welcome, mom!  It’s going to be so much fun to have you with me during the rest of my year of writing dangerously!

How did she suddenly come upon this rarest of all things, the internet, you might ask.

Safety guidelines: Your child has become mobile

Safety guidelines: Your child has become mobile, and will likely get into things in your home, in order for him to explore his environment safely here are a few tips.

  • Make sure you have placed safety guidelines in place in your home.  Place plugs in electrical outlets, lock doors or safety latch doors you do not want the child entering. Place latches on cabinets. Consider bracing furniture to the walls, if you have a child that likes to climb.  Safety gates so your child cannot get down the stairs.
  • A Picky Eater: So you feel your child is a picky eater.  Most children are probably getting enough nutrients, even if they are not eating what you would expect.  As long as the child appears to be growing and developing properly, and has the energy to play-they are probably getting enough nourishment.

Parents of picky eaters should remember that:

How to prepare for a Weekend Getaway

This past weekend I did something I haven’t done since before I became a mother: I went away. By myself. For years one of my closest friends and I have tried to plan a weekend at her family’s cottage and it’s never worked out, but on Friday afternoon I packed my things and headed out for a totally relaxing weekend. No kids, no husband, no responsibility…just me and a good friend and a whole lot of beautiful scenery. And wine. And beer.

I was in such a rush to leave I left my purse sitting by the front door. Dave came home from work that afternoon and I couldn’t get out of the house fast enough.

We had an amazing weekend – the weather was absolutely gorgeous and it was totally friggin’ awesome to kick back with a good friend and just chill. At night we sat on the deck and gazed at the stars; we went down to the dock and drank our coffees by the water in the mornings. We talked and laughed and shared silence together. We went for paddleboat rides, played games and took in the crisp air, not to mention the brilliant fall colors that were peeking through.

My October Goals and NaNoWriMo 2016

Time is flying, it’s almost October and the most 2 important goals for October are getting ready for NaNoWriMo and help my cousin to start with an online GED prep course.

There’s a lot to do if I’m going to pull this off. I’m off to a good start. The second goal (working for the GED exam) is a well structured and plan. We intend to work daily for at least one hour using mostly the website Coccell.com, as all we need is there.

The NaNoWriMo prep is a different story. First, I had to pick a genre. Ideally, I would have chosen literary fiction, but who am I kidding?  I chose Chick it.  What I have in mind is not technically chick lit.  I’m not hip enough for real chick lit.  But, it’s definitely for chicks.

Then I had to come up with a story. Done. Next, character names and backstories know where I want to start and what happens in the end. I have several “scenes” that have to take place. Now I have to fill in the details.
