WordPress is adaptable for any business

No matter what type of business you have, a WordPress website can be created. It doesn’t matter what your business is because there are so many ways to extend WordPress to do almost anything that you need it to do from simple blogging, to full featured online store, to active community website. You can manage your coaching business, a service business, or build an affiliate website all with WordPress. There really is no type of business that can’t use self-hosted WordPress as their website building software. Colleges, newspapers, and even million dollar businesses are using WordPress.

Due to the large variety of exceptional WordPress Themes (my personal favourite is Headway*) along with the ability to easily modify the themes, your website can be up and running in a number of days. If you can’t find a theme that you like it’s easy to find a developer to create a unique theme just for your business. WordPress websites don’t need to lead with the blog, with a few clicks your website can lead with a home page that is unique to your website. In fact, you don’t even have to have a blog included on the WordPress website although it is highly recommended that you do.

WordPress might have started out as a blogging platform but today, self-hosted WordPress website is made for running all kinds of websites. It doesn’t matter what type of website you want, with WordPress you can find plugins, or have them created that extends the basic functions of the WordPress platform to do almost anything you want it to do. Due to the fact that WordPress is open source software there are legions of developers working on making WordPress better around the clock.

Whether creating a blog or a full featured website with WordPress it’s really just a matter of clicks having your site up and running. Start with a list of what you want your site to look like and do, so that you’ll know what type of plugins to look for before you get started. Plugins are small programs that create things such as a shopping cart, affiliate program, membership site, social sharing or other functionality on your website.

It’s also important to know what type of theme you want to use and whether it is compatible with the way you want to use it or not. Sometimes you can find examples of how the theme is being used. If you can’t find a theme you like it’s not hard to find a developer to create a custom theme for you based on your written description of what you want it to accomplish. It doesn’t matter how you create the site at first, with WordPress upgrades and updates are simple as changing or adding another plug in or theme all without losing the content you already have.
