We can hold the key...
Yesterday I wrote about some expectations when you have a limited number of hours set aside to use the services of a virtual assistant or online business manager. So you’ve purchased a retainer of 10 hours from a virtual assistant what can you expect task-wise that the virtual assistant could do for you?
Remember 10 hour per month works out to approximate 2.5 hours per week and with any working relationship consistency is key.
If I have 2.5 hours per week to make my clients life easier some of the the things I could easily manage would be:
- Social Media – I can monitor your Twitter and Facebook accounts and make note of any important interactions and provide you with a summarization every few days.
- Facebook/Website Monitor & Maintenance – any updates you need to your Facebook Fan Page and Website/Blogsite I can update
- Comment Moderation – I can monitor the comments on your blog and ensure that the appropriate ones are approves and answered to keep the interaction going.
- Google Alerts - I can set up google alerts for specific search terms and provide a overview each week of anything important to you and your business as well as monitor any trending topics.
- Forum Interaction and Moderation – I can represent your company and interact on an particular forums that are important for you and your business
- Longer Term Projects – have a promotion coming up in a few months I can start to build the buzz and help you with publicity and manage the event.
- Recruitment – need to hire additional staff? I can manage the recruiting process for you including the initial interviews
- Transition to WordPress – a longer term project but I can work on the process to making your transition from a traditional website to a WordPress Blogsite doable and completed quicker than you’d expect
- Invoicing to Clients – Are you behind on your billing to your clients? I can manage all of your invoicing for clients each month.
- Find Efficiencies – Let me use my specialized Task and Time Management Analysis to help you find where your time is spent and you can learn where your are making money and where you just might be losing money.
Seems like a lot and no I (nor any other VA) couldn’t do all of this each month for 10 hours per month, but a few of these tasks done consistently each month will provide you with time to brainstorm, strategize, development and create something great for your business or maybe it will simply give you a few additional hours of billable time that you can take on an additional client.
These are just a few ideas of a variety of tasks I could manage for only 10 hours per month, imagine what an additional 20 hours could do!
